Position Summary Situated in beautiful Wascana Park, one of the largest urban parks in North America, the University of Regina is a comprehensive institution, emphasizing excellence in teaching and research, as well as public service. Experiential learning and cross disciplinary teaching are strongly supported.

The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science presently offers five programs in Electronic, Environmental, Industrial, Petroleum and Software Systems Engineering that are accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. We also offer M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. programs and other interdisciplinary graduate programs. The faculty offers unique Co- operative Education and Internship programs and has approximately 1400 undergraduate students and almost 270 graduate students (of which about 70 graduate students are in Ph.D. programs). The Faculty has a strong commitment to providing an excellent "systems approach" to engineering education for our students. Each program has a unique implementation of the systems theme, founded on the common underlying goal of producing engineering graduates with a strong base of technical knowledge and with the breadth of complementary skills that successful professional engineers should have in the workplace.

The Faculty enjoys close collaborative relationships with industry and government research laboratories. These include the Petroleum Technology Research Centre (PTRC), and the Saskatchewan Research Council, both of which are located in Regina Research Park, adjacent to the campus. Requirements Applications are invited for a tenure-track faculty position in the Laboratory Instructor category. To be the successful candidate in this competition you must possess a completed Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering or closely related discipline with a minimum of 4 years' petroleum industry and/or laboratory experience. Or a Master's or Ph.D. degree in petroleum engineering with a minimum of 2 years petroleum industry and/or laboratory experience will also be considered. Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan.

The successful candidate will be a strong team player that will contribute to our team environment by assuming their share of the administrative duties and acting in a respectful and collegial manner. They should display self-motivation to improve the quality of labs, teaching and working environment. The successful candidate will have a strong passion and aptitude for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.

Preference will be given to the candidate with the following qualifications:

Knowledge of a variety of petroleum engineering related subjects, such as reservoir fluid properties, drilling engineering, production engineering, formation evaluation and characterization, and reservoir engineering;
Teaching experience including giving tutorials/lectures and demonstrations, writing and updating lab manuals, developing new labs, marking technical reports, and evaluating technical presentations;
Hands-on experience in operating and maintaining the laboratory equipment and developing / establishing new labs;
Experience in the use of various commercial petroleum engineering software packages and data acquisition systems;
Demonstrated experience in ensuring a safe and healthy work and teaching environment including maintenance of appropriate documentation.

The successful candidate is expected to start January 2019.
