Job Overview:
Beicip-Franlab is a world leading consulting Company providing services and software to help oil and gas professionals in interpreting subsurface data and assessing exploration and production risks and opportunities. Our company is seeking a Seismic Characterization Specialist to support the development of its activities.

As a Junior Seismic Characterization Consultant, you will be expected to work in integrated project teams composed of experienced geophysicists, geologists and reservoir engineers. You will carry out all tasks related to reservoir detection and/or characterization from seismic data through seismic inversion and characterization workflows to perform prospect evaluation, geological modelling and reservoir characterization for Oil & Gas Company's exploration, appraisal and development drilling programs.

The successful candidate must have basic knowledge of standard seismic inversion and characterization workflows. Programming skills would be a plus, as well as academic knowledge in other geoscience domains, such as rock physics, geostatistics, seismic processing and geomechanics.

You will be based in our main office near Paris in France with opportunities to travel abroad.

Acting as Junior Consultant, you will directly report to the Rock Properties Characterization Team Leader and Project leaders. You will be expected to:

Perform key seismic characterization tasks: petro-elastic models, well-to-seismic calibration, post- and pre-stack inversion, qualitative and quantitative attribute analysis, etc.;

Work actively in an integrated project team (with geophysicists, geologists and reservoir engineers);

Participate to the presentation and discussion with the client from data collection to the results delivery;

Apply innovative methods and solutions to optimize prospects evaluation and field development thanks to an access to in-house leading-edge technologies;

Actively participate to the evolution and/or development and promotion of our in-house inversion and characterization software.

Beicip-Franlab is looking for highly motivated individuals with the following qualifications:

An Msc/PhD degree in Geophysics;

First Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is a plus;

A commitment for mobility as the job may include short-term and long-term missions overseas;

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral;

Fluent English and French mandatory, other language advantageous;

Legal right to work in France without company sponsorship
