ACCEL Energy is a sustainability-focused energy company, which utilizes a synthesis of conventional systems and novel industrial processes to deliver increased carbon, waste and energy-efficiency in hydrocarbon extraction, refining and end-use.
The Junior Petroleum Engineer, based out of our Judy Creek facility near Whitecourt, Alberta will be part of a field based Upstream technical team which provides support to reservoir engineering and production operations to maximize asset value while maintaining an environmentally safe, positive, and cost-effective environment. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide support to senior engineers and area leader to meet and exceed production targets
Develop new and refine current methods to enhance the extraction and transportation of oil and gas
Support Completions Superintendent and Senior Field Technologist to executive surface and subsurface well programs, compliant to all regulatory and company standards.
Diagnostics on anomalous well production and injection volume declines, and failure analyses of artificial lift equipment including participation in tear down of subsurface isolation and artificial lift equipment as required.
Provide technical support in well optimizations and maintenance including well rehabilitations and stimulations, and design of optimal artificial lift equipment including but not limited to: 1) sucker rod pumping equipment; 2) electrical submersible pumps; 3) Gas lift system; and 4) plunger lift pumping system.
Active participation in well reviews including tracking and prioritizing actions and ensure timely implementation.
Lead in managing AER regulatory compliance work including static pressure surveys, packer isolation tests, surface casing vent tests, and suspended well inspections (D12), and organizing remedial actions as required.
Supervise surface and subsurface pressure testing of tubulars, well tubing and casing inspection operations.
Adherence to business processes including but not limited to AFE guidelines, MOC process, material transfers, procurement, and invoicing.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Petroleum Engineering degree from a recognized educational institution and eligible for membership with APEGA
1 to 5 years of industry experience, previous E&P; experience would be considered an asset.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Software skills in Office 365 product as well as exposure to related O&G; Upstream software including Avocet, OFM and various artificial lift design software.
