Junior Petroleum Engineer
Full-timePerenco UK is a subsidiary of Perenco, an international oil and gas exploration and production company with subsidiaries in the UK, Latin America, Africa and South East Asia. This role is available in our Wytch Farm (Dorset) oil business.
This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to be an integral part of a multi skilled team working at our Wytch Farm Oil Field near Corfe Castle, Wareham, Dorset. Wytch Farm produces from 12 remote well sites, via infield flow lines to a central gathering station, where separation, crude oil stabilisation, water injection, gas compression/drying/fractionation, oil export, power generation, sales gas export, LPG storage and LPG export takes place.
We are currently seeking a Junior Petroleum Engineer to support the Petroleum engineering team. Reporting to the Senior Petroleum Engineer, you will work within an integrated team to support the operations and wells teams. Responsibilities will include daily well monitoring, reservoir management, and looking for wellwork opportunities and ways to optimise production. Working hours are Monday to Friday.

Monitor well performanceWell testing scheduleReservoir management, ensuring water flooding is optimised and depletion and well interactions are understood and optimisedProduction optimisationLook for surveillance opportunities to improve the knowledge of the reservoirLook for wellwork opportunities within existing wells to improve production and reduce decline. Prepare “State of Requirements” for the proposed job and follow the job to completion.Support drilling, workover and well interventions teams (logging, perforations)Prepare well reviews and support to prepare production technical limits. Liaising with other disciplines (geoscientists, reservoir engineers, process engineers etc) to come up with a hopper of opportunities
University degree in Engineering, preferably Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience or equivalent education/experienceA good understanding of Petroleum Engineering is required along with any of the broader skills.Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.) and knowledge of petroleum engineering programs.Strong communications skills, including the ability to interact effectively with a broad range of disciplines.Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and the ability to communicate results and interpretations to management.
