The Geological Technician will be responsible to assist geologists with various tasks such as: preliminary research, regulatory assistance, reservoir analysis, database set up, map setup, AFE creation, reserve evaluation and reservoir mapping.
Main Responsibilities & Activities:
Gather public and proprietary data to update/build Petra databases.
Help evaluate the potential of carbonate and clastic reservoirs within a project area.
Assist in reservoir studies for the purpose of optimizing production in a specific pool or area
Assist in the analysis and interpretation of regional structural and stratigraphic relations using well logs, core analysis, seismic, and published geologic studies.
Help provide interpretations that allow the complete evaluation of upside potential.
Preparation of geological maps, cross-sections
Executive visual materials preparation, including annual report maps, quarterly report maps, investor presentation maps.
Prepare and manage engineering/geological well files
Dissemination of geological info to partners
Assist engineers/geologists with regulatory applications and various projects as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma is required
Minimum 3 years of relevant oil and gas industry experience is an asset
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills are required
Ability to meet production demands with focus on quality of work
Strong oral and written communication skills are required
Ability to manage multiple demands with high attention to detail is required
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Petra applications
Knowledge of Wellview, Accumap and Acculogs is an asset
