Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. 28/28 Rotation based in Hassi Messaoud The development Geologist / Geomodeller will update and maintain the geomodels of the project portfolio of fields, of either single or multiple reservoirs, all in a Paleozoic clastic depositional environment. Additional reservoirs will need to be incorporated into exiting models and new geomodels of new fields might be a delivery at a later stage. This requires organizing and facilitating delivery of representative static models and ensuring good communication with the reservoir engineers to ensure an optimal basis and input for the dynamic models. Experience in in all static modelling stages and comprehensive skills in RMS software /experience in Petrel can compensate, geologic background, sedimentology and sequence stratigraphy are a key pre-requisite for this position. Experience of the Paleozoic sedimentology in North Africa is advantageous. Excellent computer skills and experience across a range of petrotechnical applications used for geomodelling and reservoir geology would also be advantageous. Key Accountabilities: • Deliver HSE commitments and demonstrate an exemplary attitude to HSE specifically with input to the safe planning and hazard identification for drilling wells. • Ensure fit-for-purpose project reservoir models are built, history matched, and maintained to enable optimisation of field development planning and maximisation of base production. This will require experience of building, maintaining and updating robust Geomodels, supported by appropriate documentation. • Organizing and facilitating for representative geomodels. • Present and explain geomodels to the Team and to shareholders • Ensuring good communication across disciplines. • Update and maintain the existing project sequence stratigraphy. • Chase opportunities and unlock unconnected volumes. • Propose new well targets and contribute to the well planning. • Work with geotechnical specialists. • Work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment. • Provide coaching and mentoring support for Geomodellers/Geoscientists in project, with focus on key elements of reservoir modelling including: workflows, data requirements, integration and interpretation, sector modelling, history matching, uncertainty and alternative scenarios. Identify industry leading tools/workflows that can be brought into the teams to improve the efficiency and productivity of the subsurface staff.Essential Skills / Qualifications:• Education: University degree in Geology or Geophysics (BSc or higher) • Languages Needed: English – Fluent, French – Advantageous. • Minimum of 12 years geosciences experience and a minimum of 6 years with geomodelling experience. • Skilful in building and updating geomodels. A track record of geomodel ownership must be demonstrable upon request. • Minimum 6 years of experience in RMS / alternatively Petrel geomodelling software • Strong sedimentological skills and sequence stratigraphy experience is required. • Familiar with key principles of reservoir engineering and knowledge in Eclipse software is advantageous. • Excellent cooperative skills with the reservoir engineers are essential to integrate the static model with the dynamic model. • The Subsurface team uses a Landmark suite and hence knowledge of the software is highly beneficial. • Good communication skills with proven success working with multidisciplinary teams and across disciplines. • Ability to work in a chAbout Fircroft:Fircroft has been placing people in specialist technical industries for approaching half a century, focusing on mid to senior level engineers for contract and permanent roles worldwide.
