Microseismic monitoring is a technology to monitor reservoir processes due to injection or production by passively listening/locating the micro-earthquakes induced by those processes. The geophysical research team at Total-EP-RT USA is currently working in collaboration with NanoSeis to build state of the art surface / borehole microseismic processing and QC software. NanoSeis is a surface microseismic processing company, their software is built on Halliburton Landmark’s SeisSpace platform.
During the first phase, you will gain the knowledge of microseismic technology (nature of microseismic events, source mechanism, locating events in subsurface, data acquisition etc. ), basic microseismic processing and interpretation through selected reading and training.
For the second phase you will participate in the collaboration with NanoSeis on the development of new capabilities in microseismic data processing and QC, testing them, and feedback to NanoSeis for improvement. Through the second phase, you will have a training on NanoSeis software and SeisSpace workflows on seismic/microseismic/ DAS data processing, and gain hands-on experience on microseismic processing and interpretation.
