As an Intern with IHS Markit, you will undertake work on a real business project intended to add value to your team as well as provide you with a great learning opportunity.
Overview of the Internship - Petroleum Engineer function:
Evaluate the practical use of reservoir or production engineering models within public literature. Work with a highly skilled team in designing and implementing reservoir flow models that are technically rigorous yet practical to use for petroleum engineers. Prototype implementations of these models and test models.
Master’s degree or higher (or equivalent experience) in Petroleum Engineering or related scientific discipline
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates should demonstrate the following education, skills and experience
Excellent verbal communication skills
The ability to work to deadlines and prioritize a complex workload
Excellent research, analytical and problem solving skills
Solid understanding of mathematical formulations for analytical and numerical reservoir models
Ability to communicate complex ideas in simple terms understood by non-specialists
Ability to program in C++, and scripting languages such as Python would be considered an asset
Experience with wellbore or pipeline hydraulics, PVT and its effect on reservoir dynamics would be considered an asset
