The Dow Chemical Company has an exciting opportunity for a Infrastructure Production Engineer, located in S. Charleston, WV. Under the general direction of the Site Services Leader, the Production Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to operations and maintenance, leading projects and solving problems as they arise for the process operation at the West Virginia Operations (WVO) Powerhouse and Water Treatment. Equipment that the Production Engineer is responsible for includes cooling water pumps, boiler feed pumps, lube oil systems, seal oil systems, hydraulic systems, starting motors, non-return and stop valves, chemical feed systems, deaerators, forced draft fans, flue gas recirculation systems, fuel systems, plant air system, steam distribution systems, PRV and desuperheater stations.
Primary Responsibilities Includes, but is not limited to the following:
Monitor equipment and systems using available quality tools for proper operation and efficiency.
Get involved in WVO Powerhouse, Water Treatment, and Utilities Distribution plant maintenance as requested to answer technical questions that may come up.
Participate in or lead root cause failure analysis on all unplanned events or repetitive operational problems for the Powerhouse, Water Treatment, and Utilities Distribution.
Responsible for operation of the gas boilers and resolution of any changes/problems. Ensure that the boilers, and associated equipment are being fully utilized and are reliable.
Responsible for operation of the Continuous Emission Monitoring System to affirm that the analyzers and data collection system are functioning properly and system is in compliance.
Troubleshoot and work with any third party supplier as necessary to correct any out of specification issues with supplied services.
