Job Location: Houston, TXSummary of Duties & Responsibilities: Mid-level position to serve as a technical expert for operations regarding geosteering, horizontal well execution and evaluations. This high-profile position's main objective is to ensure proper placement of the borehole within the client's specifications. This position will have more direct contact with the client in regards to operations, oversee the onsite operations during the execution phase and assure that all deliverables and QA is supplied to the client.The position will consist of providing operational and technical support for ExLog’s Geosteering services. This will include but not limited to performing pre-job modeling / feasibility studies, geosteering operations during the drilling phase with recommendations and any support needed to satisfy the client's requirements / needs as well as end-of-well analysis, as needed.Duties and Responsibilities: Provide technical expertise for the planning, execution and post-well analysis of horizontal wells where Geosteering Services are being utilized.Model offset data to determine the feasibility of geosteering within reservoirs within given geological / physical constraints and to recommend best procedure for a successful wellbore.Monitor real-time data, provide real-time interpretation and execute directional decisions to ensure proper placement of the borehole within a specific target.Integrate with client G&G;, drilling and completions teams for the planning and execution of their horizontal well programs.Give technical presentations to support Geosteering Services including feasibility studies, end-of-well analyses and sales / marketing demonstrations.Mentor new Geosteering personnel in the art of geosteering and other related disciplines.Promote the integration of other ExLog services for a comprehensive customer solution when and where appropriate.Communicate with various levels of drilling and G&G; personnel.ExLog is an equal opportunity employer with some of the industries brightest minds that come from numerous different backgrounds that creates a multi-cultural environment.The Geosteering Geologist must be adaptable to work assignments in different regions and with different cultural backgrounds and values.Commitment to Safety - Must be safety conscious as each assignment will involve the implementation of health, safety and environmental procedures.For the most part the job has a fixed schedule. Must be able to perform at a high level under very stressful environments and short deadlines. (Schedule varies depending on location)Minimum Required Qualifications: EducationB.S. degree in Geology / Geosciences.TechnicalAt least two years of wellsite geology and/or mud logging experienceExperience with geosteering more than 100 active (live drilling) wells utilizing either StarSteer or SES in the Permian Basin.Strong understanding of geophysics, geology, petrophysics, LWD and directional drilling.Knowledge of and experience with various geology-related aspects of drilling operationsStrong understanding of overall drilling operationsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with aggregating and integrating data from EDR systemsProfessionalExcellent oral and written communication skills including presentations skills and English language fluency.Exceptional attention to detailAbility to develop alternate solutions to problems and challengesHas proven capabilities to be a thought leader.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels and exercise good judgmentPerforms at a high level in dynamic environments.Open to constructive criticism and is okay with work being closely supervised.Self-motivated.Proficient at multi-taskingHighly organizedLegal Work StatusMust have legal right to be permanently employed in the United StatesPreferred Qualifications: Geosteered more than 75 active wells utilizing StarSteer or SESGeosteering and/or Mud Logging Experience with Delaware BasinProven experience in a multi-discipline environmentBroad knowledge of LWD and Wireline logging technologies and operations.Experience with borehole imaging operations.Job Type: Full-timeExperience:Geosteering: 2 years (Required)Education:Bachelor's (Required)Language:English (Required)Work authorization:United States (Required)
