Terms and Conditions SALARY: £20,000.00- £23,000.00 starting salary, depending on qualification and experience.HOURS: 40 Hours 0830 to 1730, Monday to Friday with 1 hour’s unpaid lunch. There will be an element of working outside office hours with a flexible workload.PROBATIONARY PERIODThe first three months will be a probationary period with no overtime paid for any long shifts or weekends.After 3 months OT will be paid for nights and weekends only at a rate agreed at that point.HOLIDAYS: 28 days including the 8 Bank and Statutory holidays.TRANSPORT: Must have a clean Driving Licence and own transport to travel to work. Transport form the main base to clients’ sites will be provided.WORKING AWAY ON CLIENTS’ SITES:Accommodation will be provided if working away from home.PPE and Tools will be provided.Often there is a requirement to work long hours, on night shifts and weekends and can be at client sites which are noisy and dirty.It may also involve working in water (standing in water) and at heights.TRAINING On the job and ongoing training will be given in all areas where required.ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATIONThe job is physical in nature and requires physical fit people as medicals are required to work in a number of areas for our clients.Main Purpose of the Job Carry out structural investigations such as load testing, instrumentation, visual inspections, non destructive testing or site sampling in line with Health and Safety regulations and specific project requirements.When in the office, produce technical reports for clients from site data received in various formats and media.Main Duties/Responsibilities/Key Tasks: Carry out any other reasonable instruction given by the DirectorsDegree educated in GeologyWell presented and enthusiastic in a customer facing roleExcellent organisation skills with a strong ability to manage competing priorities and to work in amongst the teamEffective communication & demonstrable ability to build rapport at all levelsStrong administration skills with excellent attention to detail and a desire for continuous improvementFlexible and positive attitude with the ability to stay calm under pressureGreat team player as well as a strong desire to show your own initiativeConfident with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other Civil Engineering based computer systems.Health and safety awareness and experience in implementation preferredKnowledge and /or Experience in putting together technical reports.Knowledge/Experience/SkillsDegree educated in GeologyWell presented and enthusiastic in a customer facing roleExcellent organisation skills with a strong ability to manage competing priorities and to work in amongst the teamEffective communication & demonstrable ability to build rapport at all levelsStrong administration skills with excellent attention to detail and a desire for continuous improvementFlexible and positive attitude with the ability to stay calm under pressureGreat team player as well as a strong desire to show your own initiativeConfident with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other Civil Engineering based computer systems.Health and safety awareness and experience in implementation preferredKnowledge and /or Experience in putting together technical reports.HOW TO APPLYApplication proceduresIn the first instance, please email your CV to Bina Briggs and describe in detail as to why you would be a suitable candidate for this position.
