A Geosolutions Geophysicist is a highly professional Geoscientist with a broad background knowledge of seismic data processing techniques, geophysics and acquisition methodologies who uses these in combination with business acumen to deliver solutions to our clients’ challenges in a timely manner.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

The geophysicist will be responsible for a range of tasks involved in the execution of projects, working closely with the project team and technical experts to solve the challenges and deliver our projects.

Key job responsibilities include:

Processes data utilising the appropriate technology and software, ensuring data is delivered on schedule
Define, build and submit test jobs, interpret test results, provide recommendations on parameters and recommend further testing if required
Communicate with the client regarding recommendations, collaborating to establish the route to successful delivery. High level of client interfacing skills is required
Suggest improvements to technology, workflows or software to enhance the quality of service
Validate the accuracy and efficiency of all testing and production job sequences
Keep abreast of developments within seismic data processing and communication/data transfer techniques
Investigation and problem solving for issues encountered during the course of seismic data processing
Mentoring junior staff
To assist the Project Leader with daily project and personnel management
Previous Experience and Competencies:

Education: MSc or PhD in Geophysics, Geology, Mathematics, or an appropriate geoscience.

Experience: Minimum 2 years industry experience in a seismic processing role

Desirable Experience: good understanding of Ocean Bottom, Multicomponent or land processing; velocity model building knowledge; project management experience
