CommissionDesired: PetraThe Permian team is looking for an experienced Operations Geoscientist who will be responsible for running a multiple rig drilling program in the Delaware Basin. This position is expected to perform as an individual contributor and assist in training lower level geologists. This position uses advanced techniques, procedures, and criteria for carrying out a sequence of extremely complex geological tasks.
Operational responsibilities will include those tasks typically associated with geoprogs, target window, logging program, well plans, hazard reviews, map updates, pre-spud meetings, post-drill data analysis, and daily operations meetings.
Coordination with Drilling, Completions, Reservoir, Production Teams on an as needed basis.
Provide geologic evaluations of key data for optimizing completions.
Work with Team to identify key data requirements and provide technical oversight for such acquisitions.
Responsible for coordinating with the asset exploration, appraisal, and development projects.
Support Planning, Regulatory, and Government Affairs Teams in presenting Operational Plans to government regulatory agencies.
Track industry activity and report trends to management.
Provide expert geologic testimony to State Oil & Gas Commissions or other agencies as needed.
Strong proficiency with Petra, SMT or similar applications. Experience with Spotfire and ArcMap a plus.
Previous experience in developing unconventional reservoirs and oversight of multiple rig drilling programs.
Candidate must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to handle multiple tasks with changing and conflicting responsibilities and accountabilities.
Must be self-motivated and must thrive in a closely integrated, multi-disciplined team environment.
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
BS Degree in Geology required, MSc Degree in related discipline strongly considered.
