Job Role Summary
We are looking to hire dynamic, creative, and resourceful candidates for ExxonMobil’s Bengaluru, India location to work on challenging geophysics problems in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team located in Houston, USA. Candidates will conduct applied seismic processing work with real seismic data and will utilize different types of software for geophysics problem-solving.
• Contribute to all stages of seismic processing including data conditioning, noise suppression, data enhancement, velocity analysis, and imaging.
• Conduct analysis, recognize issues, support the formulation of new and innovative workflows and methods to resolve problems, and ensure optimal quality of results.
• Execute projects to completion, including working with different ExxonMobil groups to define project objectives and plan and design projects to meet business and technical requirements.
• Work with computational scientists, engineers, and geoscientists to test, deliver and support various geophysics computational tools, models, algorithms, and software.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with minimum 7.0 GPA or equivalent from a recognized university in Geophysics, Geology, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Signal Processing or Physics.
Minimum of 3 years’ of hands-on industry experience in seismic processing (2-D/3-D) in support of upstream oil & gas operations
Proficiency in English
Knowledge of seismic acquisition, wave propagation, digital signal processing, numerical modeling, finite difference methods, and optimization will be an advantage
Thorough understanding of signal analysis methods
Experience with high performance computing environment is preferred
Strong computational and algorithmic knowledge will be an advantage
Willing to travel internationally including offshore, based on business needs
