Essential Job Functions
Providing expertise during drilling of exploratory plays and HPHT campaigns via real time pore and fracture pressure predictions
Provide expertise on screening of exploratory plays via evaluation of headroom potential through pre-drill pore and fracture pressure prediction studies
Hands on experience in constructing and evaluating three-dimensional pressure cell and stress models
Proven experience in seismic velocity picking and analysis for pore and fracture pressure modeling
Support well-engineering teams with pre-drill pore/fracture pressure predictions and well bore stability studies for optimization of well-design
Evaluation of LWD and wire-line log data from geo-mechanics and petro-physics perspective.
Experienced in rock property and in-situ stress modelling via use of acoustic, gamma ray, density logs, etc., and core and cuttings data.
Provide consultation to operating units by checking and assuring the quality of the pore pressure work done by them.
Contributed towards the development of in house geomechanical application softwares for real time porefracture prediction and bore hole stability
Petrophysical evaluation for selection of fluid sampling and formation pressure measurement in many wells
Secondary Job Functions:
Seismic attribute analysis for establishing depositional play type in greenfield areas
Analysis of LWD logs, well behaviours (cuttings shape and size, gas behaviour, influxes and kicks, dexponent, ESD, ECD, etc.) and measurement of formation pressure (Stethoscope, Testrack, GeoTap, MDT, etc.) for real time pore pressure modeling
Experienced in supporting to MPD and PMCD (in carbonates) mode of HPHT drilling
Experienced in derivation of rock mechanical properties from log and core data
Experienced in applying various rock physics models (e.g. Hashin Strickman, tectonic correction, etc.) to fine tune the pore pressure prediction models based on the routine NCT or VES-void ratio approach in highly complex geology (e.g. heterogenous lithology, thrust fold belts, etc.)
Experienced in writing reports for predrill modelling, well-proposal and end-of-well-report (EOWR)
10+ year experience in Geosciences
BS or higher in Geophysics or equivalent
Exposure to the Update industry is highly preferred
Understanding of well-planning in producing fields, and offshore operations rig-side
Experience in exploration and production opportunity generation, and maturation to drill-ready status in reservoirs
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Mostly Field work
Substantial amounts of analysis and computer work.
Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9 AM to 4 PM
Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations
Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Travel: Up to 10%
