Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company, currently has an opportunity for a Geoscientist to be based at our facility in Bergen, Norway.

Essential Responsibilities:

Provide geoscience interpretation of logging data from frontier exploration through discovery appraisal to field development, production and for plug & abandonment.
Performs discipline-specific interpretation and analysis using appropriate, state-of-the-art techniques to provide solutions and answer products for the client.
Presents data, interpretations, and reports to clients either individually or as part of the larger project team.
May lead small project teams, manage simple projects or provide input to multi-disciplinary projects.
Handles special projects, as assigned.
The position will primarily be focused on projects dealing with cased hole data focusing on barrier verification and casing integrity.


Candidates should ideally be qualified (as a minimum) to Bachelor's Degree level in Geoscience (or a related earth science discipline) with minimum 3 years relevant work experience.
Excellent problem solving skills with a drive for results.
Must be action oriented, integrity is critical, and have a strong customer focus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work both independently and as part of multi-disciplined teams.
Must be highly motivated with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of Drilling and Evaluation as well as Abandonment businesses.
Basic project management skills.
Ability to advise clients on geoscience matters and provide solutions.
Desired Characteristics:

Norwegian language skills would be a strong advantage.
Experience with Cased Hole Wireline Operations from either on or offshore, and exposure to Wireline technology such as cement logging, multi-finger calipers and production logging.
Computer literacy.
