Position Summary:

This individual will provide technical support to Geologists and Engineers. This position is located in downtown Houston, TXLevel and salary is commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Create and manage full geological database builds (logs, core data, production data, wellheader data, land grids, etc.) in Petra/Kingdom Geology for existing and new projects
  • Assist in data capture, data manipulation, and interpretation of all subsurface data – raster log data, digital log data, core data, cross-sections, 2-D & 3-D seismic data experience is a plus
  • Support mapping generation efforts including gridding of multiple well performance and geologic attributes and grid to grid calculations
  • Digitize raster log data
  • Georeference & digitize geological maps/elements
  • Creation of Management Presentation slides in Power Point
  • Work within virtual data rooms to extract information and format for analyses with the geoscience staff

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 5 years of Geoscience Analyst experience
  • Proficient in both Petra and Kindgom
  • Projection systems and coordinate transformation experience
  • Contouring/gridding methods and applications
  • Substantial MS Excel experience - data manipulation
  • Power Point experience
  • IHS & DI well data/production management experience
  • Regulatory data gathering experience (permits, frac data, core data, etc.)
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  Must possess the ability to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, copier, files, telephone, and fax; maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Geology degree (BS or MS)
  • ArcGIS platform experience
  • Kingdom Geology/SMT experience
  • Spotfire workflows
  • A&D experience – virtual data room experience
  • Globalmapper experience for georeferencing
  • Drafting background
  • Webpage creation experience
