Golder Associates Ltd. is seeking a Geophysicist – Junior/Summer-Student (Part-time) to join our Mine Stability Group, in our Vancouver office. This position is expected to lead to a full-time salary position with full benefits.
An overview of your role will include:
Conducting shallow ground geophysical surveys including seismic refraction, MASW, Electrical Resistivity Imaging, magnetics, Ground Penetrating Radar, Electromagnetics and Microgravity
Conducting downhole geophysical logging including televiewers and seismic methods
Assisting in the acquisition of over water geophysical data including seismic reflection, refraction, resistivity, magnetic and bathymetry data
Design shallow ground and over water geophysical surveys including seismic, electrical, magnetic electromagnetic and Ground Penetrating Radar techniques
Process and interpret data using industry standard geophysical interpretation software
Integrate geophysical and geotechnical data
Maintain and calibrate geophysical equipment

You will have a background which includes:
Bachelor (or final year) of Earth Sciences, geological Engineering or related discipline majoring in geophysics
Post graduate qualification in geophysics is preferred but not essential
Ability to travel frequently outside of the office to complete field work (50%)
Ability to work outdoors (50%), mostly around BC but anywhere in Canada
Practical experience with one or more of the following is preferred:
Seismic refraction
Seismic reflection
MASW
ERI
Ground penetrating radar
Borehole televiewers
Drone photogrammetry
Experience related to structural geology or geotechnical applications of geophysics is preferred
