Experienced Geoscientist Exploration Lead
Location: Perth - Australia.
We are looking for an Experienced Geoscientist Exploration Lead to join our Perth team.
The role of Geoscientist Exploration Lead will lead team in the area of Geophysics primarily, but has also applied knowledge in geology, geomechanics and petrophysics and belongs to the Schlumberger Technical Community. The Seismic Interpreter Geophysicist is mainly involved in structural and stratigraphic interpretation of 3D and 2D seismic data for reservoir delineation and modeling. He is also involved in characterizing the reservoir and overburden through the attribute analysis of seismic traces to derive acoustic and elastic parameters and estimates of rock properties and run seismic geomorphology analysis for depositional and structural interpretation. Traditional tasks include pre-drill seismic assessment of drilling hazards, which is an essential part of the well planning process, velocity modeling, depth conversion and depth prediction, pore pressure prediction from surface seismic, multicomponent seismic interpretation and time-lapse analysis and is usually involved in reservoir projects, full field reviews, field development planning and production development.
Resident of Perth or able to self-relocate to Perth, WA
Have the full right to live and work in Australia
Master's Degree or other higher Degree in Engineering or Pure or Applied Science. Preferred MSc or MA in Geoscience
Minimum 5 years’ work experience as a Seismic Interpreter/Geoscientist in oil and gas industry
Additional minimum 2-3 years’ work experience as a Geologist in oil and gas industry
Additional minimum 2 years’ work experience as a Geoscientist Team Lead in oil and gas industry
Experience in the log acquisition/ processing /interpretation of Geophysics or Petrophysical data in a commercial environment is preferred
Advanced skills using Petrel, PetroMod & Omega software with 5+ years’ experience
Medium to Advanced skill in project estimation
Can handle projects of medium-high complexity
Creative and innovative in providing quality solutions, advanced skills in analysis and design of solutions
Expert skill in techniques, tools, processes and practices within area of expertise
Advanced Decision Making: Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies
Strategic approach to identifying potential future problems. Acts consistently over the long term to create opportunities or avoid potential risks
Provides strategic direction and support to area
Advanced mentoring skills
Manages the coordination of activities of defined area with responsibility for costs, methods and personnel
High level of collaboration with others
Good interpersonal communication skills and excellent English
Multidisciplinary integration capabilities of information in the geosciences environment with other disciplines for synergy enhancement
Strong understanding of Schlumberger service offering
Ability to demonstrate principled leadership with sound business ethics and consistency with principles, values, and behaviour
Ability to work under pressure
Good organizational and time management skills
Familiar with Schlumberger business systems and operating systems
