AberdeenContractOur client a leading Oil & Gas Operator is seeking a Geophysicist for an on-going contract opportunity based in Aberdeen.
The Geophysicist will provide geophysical input into the subsurface activities associated with the fields and discoveries in the asset.
The Geophysicist will be part of the multi-disciplinary subsurface team assigned to the asset that will undertake the reservoir studies and development projects associated with the long-term management, development and optimisation of the fields, associated satellite developments and near field exploration opportunities in the asset.
The Geophysicist will provide input for reserves/resources estimation.
Carry out seismic interpretation (structural and stratigraphic) as input to reservoir models for the fields and discoveries in their assigned asset
Depth velocity models and the uncertainties associated with the different methods applied
Use of the quantitative and qualities attributes to define reservoir properties.
Manage geophysical studies carried out by in house and by 3rd party contractors and vendors
Work with the other members of the multi-disciplinary sub-surface team assigned to the asset to identify new drilling opportunities as well as production adding Well Workovers/Interventions opportunities
Support the Company's process of change and continual improvement Lead and Coordinate Development Project Front End activities (Appraise to Define) when required Acting as Peer Reviewer when required
Seismic interpretation and mapping 3D datasets covering producing fields and discoveries as they move towards and through development
Generation of new drilling opportunities and evaluation of well results
Participation in multi-disciplinary project teams
Provide input for enhanced processing of seismic datasets and QI projects
Data room evaluations of potential farm-in
Other duties consistent with employees expertise and status may also be assigned according to business needs
Education Attainment & Accreditation
Degree qualified or equivalent, preferably to MSc or higher level
Professional Skills & Experience
Substantial oil industry experience, preferably with an operating company
Strong technical background in seismic interpretation
Up-to-date knowledge of interpretation in Petrel software packages preferred
Solid understanding of other subsurface disciplines
Interpersonal Skills & Qualities
Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams
Capacity to acknowledge and analyse large quantities of data
