Required certifications/ experience/licences Strong seismic interpretation skills, and particularly integration of classical seismic interpretation, rock physics and geological and well data
Substantial experience of developing in-fill well proposals, well planning and optimisation and will have been involved in well delivery/drilling operations for horizontal development wells.
Face-to-face meetings with team members and literature review to gain an understanding of the field area reservoirs and characteristics
Provide general seismic interpretation and geophysical advice to asset team on range of potential focus areas across the portfolio that may emerge.
Monitor 3D reprocessing of streamer survey as project team focal point - ongoing
Attend 3D repro meetings in-person or remotely
Assess PSDM result in depth and time and determine the optimum depth product for the assets
Provide high-level assessment of the PSDM data and comparison with legacy
Derive depth-domain far-offset stack coloured impedance product from PSDM - the primary evaluation and well planning volume
Geobody and connector' mapping for the producing and discovered assets, providing inputs to update existing reservoir models from re-processed PSDM data
Work with geologist to refine mapping of shallow Paso gas anomaly and generate volumetric estimates
Net Pay Prediction
Derive updated methodologies for net pay prediction from the reprocessed seismic data (Sum of Negative Amplitudes (SNA) on far-offset CI currently). This will entail defining the optimum net pay predictor, seismic cut-offs for connected volume etc. but in the short term will require an evaluation of the continued validity of the SNA method and application of the results to quick-look reservoir model updates
Well Planning and Operations
Check and optimise the proposed well trajectories for the three upcoming wells against the new PSTM (immediately) and PSDM (after it arrives at end March).
Provide geophysical input to well planning documents (Well Proposal Document and Operational Decision Support Pack)
Assist the asset team with real-time geosteering decisions
4D Acquisition Planning
Attend the regular multi-disciplinary 4D seismic acquisition planning meetings to represent the asset subsurface team and their requirements
The contractor will be expected to work a 12hr back to back shift pattern, including nights and weekends for short periods during drilling operations.
