  • Works daily with other New Ventures team members in the identification and development of oil and gas prospects and wells.
  • Utilizes appropriate geophysical techniques and applications for prospect generation and maturation.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations on investment opportunities through geophysical and geological analysis.
  • Generates structural and stratigraphic interpretations, and identifies hydrocarbon potential, based on seismic data and interpretations.
  • Assesses the risks and uncertainties of prospects generated and matured
  • Generates a variety of maps to identify drilling locations using seismic data and advanced structural inversion techniques.
  • Coordinates and designs geophysical acquisitions for optimum cost benefit of data and interpretations.
  • Coordinates, designs, and manages process flow for processing or reprocessing. Interprets, integrates, and communicates special geophysical applications (e.g. analyze gathers, AVO), as appropriate.
  • Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.

  • Seven (7) years minimum experience in oil and gas geoscience with an emphasis on geophysics.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in the Cook inlet and/or North Slope of Alaska
  • Ability accurately solves problems.
  • Ability to make valuable contribution to team goals and objectives.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner.
  • Project management, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
  • Required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook). SMT or similar seismic interpretation software.     2D/3D workstations experience and application.  Preferred: IHS Petra experience.


  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in geology or geophysics.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree in geophysics or geology from an accredited university.
