Geology Summer Student

The Geosciences department is focused on building a diverse portfolio of high-impact heavy oil opportunities for medium and long term production growth. Our organization is built around teamwork utilizing the contributions of each individual to create and sustain successful projects.
The 4-month summer student positions will commence May 6, 2019 and be based in Calgary.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work with your mentor and team to complete a relevant geological project that will add value to Devon Canada by carrying out the following work:
Perform interpretation of a variety of geologic and production data sets, mapping various geologic parameters, performing data analytics to look for correlation and causation
Use core interpretation and analyses to understand the effects of reservoir properties on hydrocarbon production
Learn and use the appropriate geologic and data analytical computer applications to complete your project
Present your project results in several meetings to your team, manager, and a group of senior geotechnical individuals
You will have completed third year geology in an Earth Science program at a Canadian University by May 2019; or you are returning in the fall of 2019 to pursue a Masters or PHD in Geology
