Student positions at Suncor (including co-op and intern) are more than just a work term. You will use your expertise to:
Develop familiarity of project area and interval(s) of interest through searches of existing pubications and reports
Use seismic (2D and 3D) and well data to interpret and map the structure and stratigraphy of prospective intervals in East Coast basins
Provide geological and geophysical interpretations to identify and evaluate prospective acreage
Collaborate with and provide technical support to the subsurface team
Synthesize findings into summary reports, including recommendations for future work

Must-haves (minimum requirements):
Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or science degree in Geology or Geophysics
An interest in clastic depositional systems and extensional tectonics
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work and thrive in a dynamic team environment in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Strong organization skills
Initiative and you’re a self-starter with high work ethic
Preference for:
Previous experience in the oil and gas industry
Experience in extensional structural settings
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:
You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
Working hours 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
This is a temporary position for a period of 8 months – May 2020 – December 2020
