The Geology Associate is an intermediate member to a team of geologists, analysts, and data scientists that work collaboratively to advance the technical insight and interpretations for oil and gas plays globally. Associates are critical to our success and trusted with a high level of responsibility, often interacting directly with clients, thus requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills. This individual will have excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills. The role may include occasional weekend and evening hours. An interest in the financial sector is valuable.
Contribute and advance technical ideas and support to the geology team
Build and integrate geological models with asset teams
Complete stringent QA / QC checks for a variety of datasets
Assist with publications, presentations and advisory projects
Interact with clients to discuss workflows, assumptions, and interpretations regarding geological models
3+ years of related work experience
Minimum B.Sc. in Geology/Geoscience
Advanced knowledge in Petrel (minimum 2 years)
Strong petrophysical skills
Experience with Geographix an asset
Python and/or SQL experience is an asset
Ability and desire to travel between Canada and US
