We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Geologist with the East Wolfberry RMT in the Midland Basin BU. This position is based in Houston and reports to Shin San Sam
Essential Job Duties:
Since the foundation of our business is a solid understanding of subsurface geology, geologists are critical members of our subsurface teams. The primary objective for this position will be to integrate core and well log data, petro-physical analysis, and geo-physical data to generate detailed maps and cross sections for identification of development drilling and recompletion opportunities. Our geologists apply their skills and use state of the art tools to map and describe prospects, evaluate reservoirs, participate in volumetric and reserves estimations, and provide geoscience support to drilling, completion, and workover programs.

MS degree in Geology or related field of study with minimum of 3 years in petroleum exploration or development geology, or
Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field of study with a minimum of 10 years of experience in petroleum exploration or development geology
Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and teamwork skills; effective collaborator with experience working in a cross-functional team environment
Time management skills to personally plan and execute work to meet agreed timeframes
Ability to integrate and synthesize geology, geophysics, petrophysics, and engineering data into comprehensive, technically sound interpretations and make economically appropriate recommendations based on these interpretations
Ability to build 3D reservoir models using Petrel, integrating log and seismic data
Ability to efficiently identify and integrate available logs into a stratigraphic interpretation
Ability to interpret outcrop and core data
Ability to calculate OOIP volumetrics and experience supporting reserves documentation
Working knowledge of unconventional reservoirs with experience in Permian Basin
Proficient in GeoGraphix and Landmark OpenWorks/DecisionSpace
CO2 flood and/or water flood experience
Operations Geology experience supporting drilling, completions and workover activities
