Utilize petroleum systems and advanced geoscience techniques, procedures and criteria to provide regional geological framework in order to explore and identify high quality drillable oil and gas prospect opportunities for investment consideration in conventional and unconventional reservoirs. Perform specialist petroleum systems modelling and analysis. Advise asset teams on suitable techniques to solve petroleum systems and geochemistry problems. Utilize advanced geoscience techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out sequences of geological tasks directed towards prospecting for oil and gas. Collaborate closely with company’s engineering staff utilizing advanced knowledge of reservoir and petrophysical parameters to enhance completions and overall well results. Provide aid in the development of economic evaluations and the design of reservoir models. Identify and generate high quality opportunities for investment consideration, balancing sound business judgment with technical knowledge of oil and gas operations. Make recommendations to acquire new core areas and to develop new oil and gas play ideas. Participate in multidisciplinary teams to plan and execute optimum property development. Interpret and integrate a variety of geological data utilizing Petrel, Petromod, Trinity, Genesis, and Kinex software. Create fully integrated subsurface (geology/seismic) interpretations. Develop and maintain a structurally and geologically valid 3D model for the drilling programs. Interpret geochemistry data for production allocation studies. Represent the company in external meetings. Train and mentor geoscientists, and participate teaching in-house schools.
MS in Geology required; Minimum of 18 months' experience in industry; Strong structural, stratigraphic and petroleum systems skills; Expertise working rift systems and utilizing thermochronology; Ability to work across multiple software platforms in seismic interpretation, well log interpretation and basin modeling; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills; Ability to document, communicate, foster teamwork and collaboration to deliver results.
