The CRC San Joaquin Basin, South Valley Team is seeking to fill a Senior Geologist position in our Bakersfield, CA location.

Responsibilities
Development and expansion of conventional sand plays, as well as the generation of new oil and gas prospects across the San Joaquin Basin
Utilize surface and subsurface data to generate geologic models through log analysis and correlation, cross-section construction, stratigraphic analysis, geophysical / petrophysical analysis and mapping techniques
Integrate and build a stratigraphic framework with 2D/3D seismic and well data to optimize drilling locations
Support development of waterflood and IOR/EOR projects
Generate probabilistic and deterministic resource estimates
Clearly communicate information and ideas to team members, and document project results and recommendations to management
Work in a collaborative multi-disciplined environment incorporating a wide variety of data from various sources to develop a team driven interpretation
Apply leading technologies as appropriate to reduce risk factors and more quickly realize value
Evaluate acquisition and divestiture opportunities

Qualifications

Required qualifications:
Masters of Geology and at least 8 years of field development and characterization experience
Experience utilizing geological software such as Openworks DSG or Petrel and implementing 3D modeling workflows
Experience planning and drilling of horizontal wells and fracture stimulation techniques
Experience with turbidite reservoirs and fracture description
Preferred background with planning and implementing waterflood projects
Experience with regulatory reporting and permitting associated with Underground Injection Control (UIC) Program requirements
