Generate and update maps in assigned area of responsibility using all appropriate data and applicable technologies (including, but not limited to, production, petrophysics, geochemical and core data, 2D/3D seismic data) to create, high-grade, and prioritize drilling location inventory.
Coordinate and communicate with other area geologists to ensure appropriate, consistent development of targets and reservoirs across the asset.
Make recommendations to management for the drilling of development and exploitation wells, working with reservoir engineering counterparts to ensure alignment with economic evaluation. Coordinate with Land team, reservoir, completion, drilling, and production engineers to ensure that each location is adequately planned and tested.
Collaborate closely with the drilling department on all aspects of drilling development and exploitation wells, supporting same with geological prognoses, logging program recommendations, core analysis programs, and geosteering.
Work closely with completions team to develop a geologically grounded stimulation plan.
Manage drill schedule in assigned area of responsibility, from well conception to TD.
Continuously integrate new well data with existing geologic framework to refine future newdrill opportunities and step-out evaluations. Monitor wells through the completion and production stages, and conduct and/or coordinate post-audits on development/exploitation well programs and report results to management.
Assist in evaluation of third party acreage submittals and/or property acquisitions.
Monitor industry activity in area of responsibility utilizing public data and industry networks.
Work closely with Asset Team Land to acquire acreage on extensions of core area selected for leasehold capital expenditures.
Work with Asset team members to develop capital budget plans and to track implementation of same.
Master’s degree in Geology or Geophysics, and 1+ years experience in development/exploitation-related geoscience work with responsibilities similar to above.
Practical experience with unconventional/resource plays is desired.
Permian Basin experience is a strong positive.
Familiarity with Landmark GeoGraphix software is a plus.
Business related course work and/or experience is additive.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
