Surbiton KT6TGS provides multi-client geoscience data to oil and gas Exploration and Production companies worldwide. In addition to extensive global geophysical and geological data libraries that include multi-client seismic data, magnetic and gravity data, digital well logs, production data and directional surveys, TGS also offers advanced processing and imaging services, interpretation products, permanent reservoir monitoring and data integration solutions.
The Geoscience Interpretation group in Surbiton is responsible for worldwide seismic interpretation, play fairway and prospectivity studies.
This role will involve creation of multi-client interpretative studies, and will also include seismic and potential field data interpretation incorporating the results of geologic studies based on well data; in addition to supportingthe planning and marketing of new data. The role will also offer opportunities to gain skills in quality control methods, project management, and client presentations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Undertake the interpretation of well, seismic and other data utilizing global datasets.
Understand and undertake well log interpretation, facies analysis and sequence stratigraphy and having a track record in working with sequence stratigraphy.
Contribute to prospect generation studies and take on more responsibility .
Exposure to seismic datasets and associated software skills is advantageous. Familiar with basic seismic interpretation principles and software platforms is desirable.
An understanding of “play, prospect and hydrocarbon resource evaluations” is highly desirable.
Routine project management and the ability to act as project leader.
Liaison with clients and other divisions within TGS on a routine basis.
Take responsibility for your own safety, and comply with all instructions given regarding health, safety and the protection of the environment.
Ensure the correct use of safety devices and protective equipment as required and report any hazards, accidents or injuries to your immediate supervisor.
Degree (BSc or MSc) in Geology essential
Solid experience with well log interpretation
Some experience of seismic interpretation software would be advantageous
Ability to articulate evaluation results in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to work effectively in teams
Good communication, interpersonal, presentation and time management skills
