Job Summary

Description:
Responsible for identifying new drill and recomplete opportunities in multiple Rockies basins for both gas and liquids. The geologist will be responsible for geologic operations related to the prospects that they develop and working collaboratively with engineering, land, regulatory, and accounting to implement the projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Integrate and interpret multiple geologic, petrophysical, and geophysical parameters
Utilize surface and subsurface geologic data to generate geologic models, which may include correlating well logs, building cross-sections, basic petrophysical interpretation, and various subsurface map generation
Expand interpretations in existing plays as well as generate new play concepts
Effectively utilize geotechnical software in the interpretation process
Convey technical findings through oral presentations and written reports to upper management as well as peer review presentations
Evaluate acquisition and divestiture opportunities
Work in a collaborative multi-disciplined environment to develop a team driven interpretation

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Required: A minimum of 2+ years directly related experience in the geology field with the required Masters of Geology degree from an accredited university:
Preferred: Experience in Tight gas; Rockies basins focused; Geographix geotechnical software; Oil development; Operations experience with an active exploration and production company;Onshore conventional/unconventional development;Proficient with Microsoft office suite;Geotechnical workstation software proficiency;Integrate and interpret multiple geologic, petrophysical, and geophysical parameters;Utilize surface and subsurface geologic data to generate geologic models, which may include correlating well logs, building cross-sections, basic petrophysical interpretation, and various subsurface map generation;Expand interpretations in existing plays as well as generate new play concepts;Effectively utilize geotechnical software in the interpretation process.
