Denbury is currently recruiting for a Senior Geologist to join their corporate office in Plano, Texas.
The Senior Geologist will be a professional with at least 15 years’ experience who can work independently and handle complex geological assignments. May serve as a project leader on assignments requiring a broad knowledge of geology and will be required to mentor junior level Geologists. The ideal candidate is viewed as a qualified, fully competent professional with broad industry experience, both operationally and discipline specific, who interacts at a high level with engineers and upper management. They will be fully competent in explaining geologic conceptual models and leading geologic discussions.
Experience and Competencies Required:
Understands and creates digital hydrocarbon pore volume maps, facies and depositional environment maps
Fully trained in advanced manipulating software packages for interpreting geologic problems.
The ideal candidate will have experience building geomodel’s with a high degree of proficiency in Petrel
Independently demonstrates the understanding of reservoir characterization, basic petrophysics, and surveillance of CO2 flooding. Fully understanding of the requirements for obtaining a static geologic model
Understands basic seismic interpretation and its importance and integration into reservoir characterization and mapping and has worked in SMT Kingdom
The ideal candidate is wholly aware of operations and the CO2 process and understands engineering basics. Capable of making meaningful contributions in pattern reviews and reservoir management meetings
Displays ease and comfort discussing basic reservoir engineering concepts and is comfortable working in a cross-functional, multi-disciplined team
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience working carbonate reservoirs is highly desirable
Requires a B.S., preferably a M.S. in Geology
Has a background in production geology with some exploration experience
