DiGioia Gray is seeking a Geologist in our Pittsburgh, PA office. This Geologist will focus on civil engineering projects, primarily in relation to infrastructure design, including geologic mapping, geologic desktop research, geotechnical boring logging, foundation construction/excavation observation, slope stability and foundation analyses, and construction monitoring.DutiesPerforms field assignments (site reconnaissance, boring observation, construction monitoring, and geophysical field testing)Performs office assignments (geologic research, map development, report writing, analysis/computations, boring logs, field reports, and other documents related to the work)Clearly and readily communicates with contractors/owners/office staff to proactively resolve potential field issuesCollects geologic data and gathers information or documentsPerforms work under direction of a PG or PE with specific and detailed instructionsWorks on small projects or portions of larger projectsAssists on other tasks as requiredPosition RequirementsEducationRequired: Bachelor’s degree in Geology, or a related fieldPreferred: Master’s degree in Geology, or a related fieldExperienceRequired: 0 years of experience. Must be a Geologist-in-Training (GIT).Preferred: 3 to 5 years of experience with environmental and engineering geology in a consulting services environment.
