The Albuquerque, NM office is looking for a Geologist to support local and regional environmental projects. You will participate in a variety of field and office tasks related to planning, evaluating, and implementing environmental investigations and remediation projects. Field activities include performing field observation and data collection assignments during soil and groundwater sampling, including oversight of drilling activities related to installation of soil borings and monitoring wells. Other field tasks to be performed include surface water sampling, construction oversight, sample management, and site reconnaissance with priority on performing all work in accordance with sampling and safety plans. Additional office responsibilities include supporting senior staff with data analysis and planning and reporting tasks. This position will be part of a local office in Albuquerque, NM but will also interact and assist with regional and firm-wide projects. The ideal candidate will provide accountability and personal responsibility for implementation of Jacobs Beyond Zero Health and Safety Program in all field work. This position will be part of a collaborative team working in a fast-paced environment, learning and taking instruction from senior staff to complete tasks with dedication to quality and safety. B.S. in Hydrogeology, Geology or other closely related technical degree 3 years of environmental experience including soil and groundwater sampling and contractor oversight Must be able to perform physically challenging field work in remote locations in all weather conditions. Ability to travel is required. 40-hr HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain The ideal candidate should possess and can demonstrate some of the following skills and knowledge: 3-6 years of environmental experience A strong work-ethic and personal motivation to excel with given tasks and responsibilities Ability to complete field tasks in an efficient and safe manner; adhering to sampling and safety plans at all times A desire and ability to be mentored by senior staff to grow in experience and responsibilities Excellent communication skills (oral and written) to communicate effectively with project team members and subcontractors Already residing within commuting distance of the Albuquerque, NM officeJacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
