We are currently looking for experienced, motivated, creative and entrepreneurial individuals to fill a senior Geologist position on our Exploration team. This position will report to an Exploration Manager and will be located in Houston.

You will be part of an integrated team of highly qualified geoscientists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, and technicians tasked with identifying play concepts and generating prospects for all of our assets globally.

Responsibilities include:
Lead an evaluation of exploration potential for a given basin/area with early-career geologists and geophysicists.Complete regional geoscience interpretations to identify prospective plays including: integration of core data, well log data, petrophysical analysis, geophysical data, well tests and/or offset production to generate play maps and detailed cross sections with the goal of identifying and ranking prospective areas for exploration drilling. Generate and propose prospects for drilling, including risking and well proposal, well planning and drilling, post-drill analysis, volumetrics and play updates. Create or support basin models and geological models, including detailed structural or stratigraphic interpretations where needed. Mentor early-career geoscientists and team members.

Interpretation oriented geologist with a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Geology or Geophysics and 8 years or more of Geological interpretation experienceMinimum of 8 years of experience in a petroleum exploration geologists positionProven track record in generating prospects and discovering hydrocarbonsFully competent and experienced in standard geological tasks including: flow-unit and sequence stratigraphic correlation of well logs; generation of cross sections to communicate the distribution of reservoir presence and quality; identification of net reservoir and generation of net-reservoir isochore maps; creation of structure maps integrating well logs, seismic, and structural geology concepts; experience integrating all existing data into a complete interpretationAbility to evaluate technical risks relating to trap, reservoir, charge and seal, and combine them with economic and engineering data to develop a comprehensive business picture for decision makingProficient in drilling and completion operations, with extensive experience drilling vertical and horizontal wellsFamiliarity with basic and advanced well logging tools, including planning, acquisition, and interpretationExperienced in reserve estimation and evaluation of prospect economicsProficient in either Landmark Decision Space or Schlumberger Petrel, and the Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to contribute effectively and creatively as an individual and as a member of a multidisciplinary teams; can effectively establish and maintain peer relationships in a team environmentAbility to plan and manage multiple projects independently and simultaneously, including managing changing prioritiesAbility to communicate information and evaluations concisely, both verbal and in written formatsStrong business acumen with good problem solving skillsWilling to coach and mentor others

Additional Desired Qualifications:
Ability to integrate 2D and 3D seismic interpretation with geologic dataProficient in petrophysical analysisExperience in either 3D geological modeling (in Petrel or similar) or 3D basin modeling (in Trinity or similar)Proficient in reservoir description/core data analysis
