Golder has a new opportunity for a Geologist to join the Buffalo, NY office on a fulltime basis. In this role, you will support a variety of civil and environmental projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Demonstrate competence with a full suite of geophysical techniques
Perform field activities either individually or as part of a team that will include the collection of geophysical data and other documentation;
Adhere to all Golder safety protocols and procedures and maintain a high-level safety awareness at project sites;
Assist with the continuous operation, calibration and maintenance of the geophysical equipment;
Assist with data processing to generate time sensitive reports;
Review collected data for accuracy, quality and completeness;
Responsible for compiling mapping projects and delivering finished product for review from the project manager/senior consultant;
Observes test procedures and product compliance to internal and industry specifications;
Cleanup work areas and remove debris after activities are complete;
Organize materials in order to prepare for next use;
Ensure that all Company equipment is maintained and secured as required by Company Operational Procedures;
Ability to document, and track discrepancies using appropriate software;
Follow and enforce the Company required safe work practices and procedures;
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, and promote a positive client service attitude internally and externally;
Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management;
Contribute to a rewarding and collaborative work atmosphere in the Buffalo Group
Maintaining a chargeability of approximately 90% (to be discussed further and adjusted as necessary);
Daily travel is required for this position as well as overnight travel (typical 50%)
The successful candidate will have a background in:
B.S. in Geology or equivalent preferred
1-2 years’ experience
Civil or construction site experience preferred
OSHA 10-Hour Construction and HAZWOPER 40-hour training preferred
Demonstrate competence with a full suite of geophysical techniques.
Demonstrate competence with ESRI ArcMap in developing basic maps
