LOCATION: Calgary, Alberta (CA-AB) JOB NUMBER: 20069   Job Overview Reporting to the Director, Exploration New Ventures and Libya, and working in close collaboration with a team of reservoir engineers, your work will primarily involve the building and improving of geomodels, working with large data sets for both 3D seismic and wells. Key Accountabilities Use 3D seismic and wells to better define stratigraphy and depositional mapping to the key producing formations to the giant Amal Field with an objective to incorporate results into an improved reservoir model that supports a field development plan and long-term field strategy Support reservoir engineers in undertaking well review/ segment review work with priority to Amal and Farigh Fields Collaborate with team members as well as provide technical support to the Harouge joint venture organization Static model building to the producing Farigh Field with objective to develop a full-simulation model that supports a field development plan and long-term field strategy Assist reservoir engineers working on the giant Ghani and Ed Dib fields in well placements from forecasting results Prioritize future geomodel builds (Tibisti: En Naga; Barrut; Dor Marada; and Farrud producing oil fields) through value of information and ranking exercises Accountable to improving the quality of Suncor's Libya database Required Qualifications Experience and Education 10+ years of related geosciences experience International experience an asset Post-secondary degree in geoscience is required Skills and Knowledge Stratigraphy and/or sedimentology knowledge is highly desirable You collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value You do not take or tolerate shortcuts and if the procedure is incorrect, you fix it You constantly ask what could go wrong and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions and learn to anticipate potential problems You hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same You are a self-starter with high work ethic Working Conditions This position is based in Calgary working a Monday Friday schedule Occasional international travel is required Why Suncor Go ahead.
