This is a unique entry-level opportunity to launch or further develop your career in the field of Geology. You will be exposed to large amounts of data from multiple oil and gas plays. It may take you 3-5 years to get an opportunity like this in E&P; companies and you won’t be just a number on our team. This position is based in Austin and reports to the Chief Geoscientist.
Basic Performance Objectives
Geological analysis of the most active oil and gas plays in the U.S.
Data interpretation and mapping using the geologic tools in Transform, our proprietary G&G; interpretation platform, as well as more advanced tools for data analytics.
Work closely with our analysts to provide geological data or results for analysis and modeling.
Work with the sales and support staff to help with specific information about Geology projects and interpretive methodologies.
Data management, including creating, organizing, loading, providing quality control, and exporting various types of data. Data types include oil and gas production data, well completion data, well header information, deviation surveys, well logs, petrophysical properties, and event correlations.
Competitive Candidate Profiles
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Geology, Geophysics or related Geoscience field.
Prior knowledge and experience with 2D and 3D earth science workflows including mapping, stratigraphic correlations, and log analysis.
Knowledge of well engineering and completion practices.
Experience with programming and writing scripts in Python.
Understanding of relational databases and experience with SQL Server.
Demonstrated ability to perform file manipulation and formatting.
Experience providing application and data support for G&G; applications.
