Acara Solutions is seeking a certified Geologist for one of our Austin clients. Provide clients with mass appraisal services that provide defendable values and appraisals while maintaining relationships with appraisal district staff. Meet the needs of clients in establishing and finalizing tax rolls. Assist taxpayers, agents, clients, and other professionals with information associated with mineral properties. Senior Appraisers have extensive experience and knowledge of appraising and share that knowledge with personnel of all departments to maximize the efficiency of the organization. Duties may include: -Discover, define and establish new mineral properties and ownership. -Establish and accurately maintain mineral property tax rolls for clients. -Supply mass appraisal values to clients and support clients’ needs in mineral appraisal. -Defend appraisal values at Appraisal Review Boards. -Assist taxpayers and agents with questions involving mineral properties. -Assist taxpayers, clients, and agents with questions involving mineral properties. -Defend value in Property Value Study at the Property Tax Assistance Division boards. -Provide support to administrative staff as needed. -Attend industry functions as a representative of Capitol Appraisal Group, Inc. -Available for contract negotiations and county board meetings. -Present programs and support as needed -Must be able to train junior appraiser positions and oversee and coordinate work of associates. Expected on-going education: TAAD/IAAO Property Tax education courses to obtain or maintain certification. Participation in natural resource professional organization which addresses oil and gas issues and participation in classes offering ceu/pdh’s hours.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Forty-five to fifty-five travel days/year throughout the state of Texas.
Employee must be self starter and able to manage time on task. Extensive workload increases are realized February through September and meeting deadlines is imperative. Employee must be able to problem solve and coordinate work effort with other affiliated staff. During the periods of increased work employee will be required to oversee the efforts of additional staff that is brought in to assist with meeting deadlines.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Understanding of petroleum production characteristics.
Ability to analyze production data, reservoir and formation characteristics.
Ability to understand mineral ownership types and effects of each on value
Ability to use appraisal software and production data applications
English, Math, Word and Excel proficient.
Ability to express ideas and data in a way that people unfamiliar with mineral appraisal can understand.
Ability to lead a diverse group of people through various jobs and deadlines.
Ability to accurately interpret legal documents and other mineral property related data.
