We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Geologist within our Permian Resources South Texas group based in Houston, TX.

Since the foundation of our business is a solid understanding of subsurface geology, geologists are critical members of our subsurface teams. The primary objective for this position will be to integrate core and well log data, petrophysical analysis, and geophysical data to generate detailed maps/cross sections for identification of development drilling and recompletion opportunities. Our geologists apply their skills and use state of the art tools to map and describe prospects, evaluate reservoirs, participate in volumetric and reserves estimations, and provide geoscience support to drilling, completion, and workover programs.  • Master’s degree in Geology or related field of study with minimum of 3 years in petroleum exploration and/or development geology, or
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field of study with minimum of 10 years of experience in petroleum exploration and/or development geology
• Proficient in GeoGraphix, Landmark OpenWorks/DecisionSpace, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Practical understanding of petroleum economics
• Proven record of contributing effectively and creatively as an individual and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
Additional Desired Qualifications:
• Proficient in petrophysical analysis
• Experience working in the South Texas/Gulf Coast Region and/or other tight gas sand plays
• Experience working in Permian Basin
• Proficient in Petrel 3D modeling software
• Proficient in reservoir description/core data analysis
• Experience supporting reserves documentation process including estimation of gas in place
• Operations Geology experience supporting drilling, completion, and workover activities
