Origin is continuing to invest in gas and condensate exploration and production, as well as developing and operating a world-class CSG production business, through Australia Pacific LNG. A leading producer of CSG in Queensland, with growing reserves and new gas exploration interests around Australia, we are seeking the right candidate to become part of the team that's meeting growing demand for energy, and searching for tomorrow's energy solutions.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Geologist or Geo-Modeller to join the Exploration & New Ventures asset within Origin's Integrated Gas business. Based in Brisbane and reporting to the General Manager, Exploration & New Ventures (ENV), your role will be to look at the geological characterisation of APLNG acreage as input into acreage feasibility assessments.
Some of the responsibilities of the person will include:
Executing geological reservoir characterisation
Co-creating reservoir development solutions for exploration acreage that allow decision-making on the best monetisation opportunities for the acreage
Coordinate integrated feasibility assessments, combining geological, reservoir engineering and economic inputs

To succeed in this role, you will be a sound communicator with the ability to collaborate and build relationships effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. You will combine this with strong analytical and interpretative skills, a high level of initiative and motivation, and the ability to prioritise workload effectively to meet deadlines.
Required skills and experience include:
Degree in geosciences (Hons or MSc preferred)
7+ years' experience in similar technical geoscience roles
Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
Strong reservoir geology skills
Good working knowledge of other subsurface disciplines
Experience in coal seam gas evaluation and Petrel is advantageous
