Reporting to the VP, Exploration & Land, you be highly proficient in Geoscout and Petra software applications and will support a team of geologists working on multiple play types. You will create geoSCOUT maps and Petra projects; perform volumetric calculations in Petra for OOIP and OGIP; and assist in reservoir management plans. You will convert user tops from Excel to post values into geoSCOUT and Petra; change seismic grids from SeisWare to Petra, Surfer or geoSCOUT; and create monthly land updates for geoSCOUT. You will prepare, transcribe and analyze data and create map montages for corporate reviews. Experience with petrophysics data using Techlog or data analytics is beneficial.
To qualify for this position, you have a minimum of five years of geological technologist experience in the oil and gas industry and a geological technologist certificate or diploma. You have excellent computer skills and are especially proficient using geoSCOUT, Petra, Didger, Surfer, CS Explorer and Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. You are detail-oriented and excel at analyzing and interpreting data.
