Description

We are currently seeking a Geologic Technician to join our team. This position will support E&P; efforts in core applications, project database management, basic analytics, base map generation and occasional digitizing and drafting.

Responsibilities:

Support E&P; professionals in day to day interpretation efforts within core applications
Assist in project work including data capture, map generation, data manipulation, conversion, and report generation
Organize project datasets for existing assets and new project areas as needed

Required Skills
Strong computer literacy a must – PC and Unix preferred.
Familiarity with Kingdom and GeoFrame applications, IHS, and DI/HPDI applets desirable.

Ability to work in an integrated, multi-disciplinary team
Ability to manage multiple tasks & areas of responsibility concurrently

Required Experience
4 year degree preferred. Associates considered depending on experience
Experience with and proficiency using Petra and its various Modules including well and production data management and updating through IHS database is a must.
Experience with ArcGIS platform, Graphic applications (e.g. Corel, Adobe, Canvas), Microsoft Suite. Substantial experience with MS Excel is desirable.
Knowledge of projection systems and coordinate transformation, directional survey data, raster logs and digital well log data manipulation as well as gridding and contouring methods and applications
Prefer 5 years or more of applied experience in an upstream oil and gas operating company environment with a strong background in domestic US exploration and production
