Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Geological & Geophysical Application Developer located in Houston, TX / United States through June 5, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
This position is in Chevron Energy Technology Company/Technical Computing Department/Subsurface Work Flow and Data Management unit/Exploration Application Service team; responsible for working with Earth Science Department (ESD) & Reservoir Performance Engineering (RPE) Department to design, develop, deploy, and support Chevron’s proprietary Geological & Geophysical applications
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Works with Earth Science and Reservoir Performance Engineering Research & Development teams to design, develop, deploy, and support Chevron’s proprietary Geological & Geophysical applications.
Provides technical and software engineering support for strategic research projects, such as Interpretation & Earth Modeling plug-in projects, Petrophysics plug-ins, Reservoir Simulation work flow integration, and etc.
Gathers business requirements, designs, develops, tests, and deploys new solutions or enhancements for existing applications as well as new initiatives.
Prepare technical and user documents
Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering is required.
Proficiency in software development skills: Python or R, Microsoft .NET Framework, Microsoft Visual Studio, C#.NET, and C++ in both Windows and Linux environment. QT knowledge or experience is a plus. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience is required.
Proficiency in software development life cycle management process. Able to independently gather business requirements, design and implement enhancements, and coordinate user testing, and coordinate across teams to deploy the new releases to production environment. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience is required
Any geoscience/petroleum engineering knowledge is a plus.
Any data science/analytics knowledge or experience is a plus.
Excellent business engagement and communication skills.
Capable of maintaining and strengthening working relationship with business partners and effectively communicating to different level of management.
Demonstrated strong facilitation and organizational skills as the primary consultant for software implementation.
Experienced with managing multiple concurrent work streams in a fast-paced working environment.
Relocation may be considered.
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
