As part of our Geological Data Services (GDS) team, this role is a key technical resource in rolling out, developing and supporting our field deployable geochemical technologyin their respective region.Tools include Boart Longyear’s new Truscan logging trailer deployed in either the drilling work flow or core storage facility. This role is expected to provide technical support for the calibration, structural and chemical understanding that supports Truscan and other GDS tools, working alongside Boart Longyear and our mining clients. As Boart Longyear continues to develop a suite of new tools that require internal and external end user training and support, learning and training is a significant part of this role.This role may at times require working rosters that align with end user requirements and is suited to a Geologist, Geochemist or Geophysicist with hands on field experience.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Geology, Geochemistry and/or GeophysicsBackground and/or understanding of XRF related hardware and software.XRF technology experience tied to hard rock geochemistryUnderstanding of hard rock geochemistry and ore deposit knowledgeMine site related field experience.Additional Qualifications/skills: Understand geochemical analytical equipment in great detail and maintain expertise on cutting edge technology.Calibration of geochemical analytical equipmentOperation and support of geochemical analytical equipmentAttending geochemical meetings and conducting presentations with our mining clients.Training of drill crews and field technicians to operate geochemical analytical equipmentProvide feedback on technology innovation and documentationTrouble shooting technical issues tied to geochemical analytical equipmentGeochemical technology hardware and software maintenance is requiredBasic mechanical and electronics skillsBasic SQL knowledgeAbility to adapt to new IT systemsGeological lab experience a strong plusOther duties as neededPerks, Benefits and Compensation: We know that talented people are attracted to companies with long term success, an amazing culture.
