Purpose of Role:

To contribute to MEG Energy success by providing production engineering support to the Christina Lake engineering and operations teams. The position is a full-time role at the Christina Lake site on 7 days in 7 days out rotation.

Key Responsibilities:
Support Calgary Production engineers with day to day well optimization at the field level.
Provide guidance, technical oversight, and prioritization to operations team with regards to the start-up, operation and maintenance of surface field facilities as it relates to thermal well operation.
Apart of a multi-discipline team responsible for overseeing and improving field facilities reliability and efficiencies.
Ensure current and upcoming activities related to thermal well operations are clearly communicated to operations Field Coordinator and completions groups.
Ensure that daily data associated with the thermal wells is accurately captured in our production volume reporting system with a focus on well testing, steam and production allocation.
Provide plant operation and field activity updates to Calgary office as required.
Oversee and execute field level production related to plant upsets or turnarounds.
Provide leadership in all field related projects from completions to field facilities.
Support operations team as required in troubleshooting issues related to the thermal well operation.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Engineering Degree from an accredited university
Legally entitled to work in Canada
2-5 years of relevant oil and gas industry experience
Registered membership of APEGA
Field Operations experience an asset

Skills and Knowledge:
Must demonstrate leadership, enthusiasm, and discipline.
Strong communication and organizational skills are required
Committed to the principle of achieving injury free operations.
Must be able to take ownership, make timely decisions and communicate outcomes.
Strong team player / excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships both within MEG Energy as well as Partner Groups, Service Companies, and Regulatory agencies
Must be able to effectively coordinate concurrent activities involving multiple groups
Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot major unplanned events.
