Description

Field Geo Services is currently looking to hire wellsite geologists to work in the Permian Basin of west Texas and southern New Mexico performing Mudlogging and Geosteering duties. Work is performed in 12 hour shifts at the rig site were our employees work and live in skid mount trailers. The geologists are at the rig site for the length of the job, approximately 18-25 days on and 7-10 days off, but also amenable to working longer hitches. A reliable, 4-wheel drive vehicle is highly desired for the rig-roads in West Texas. Our company pay structure is a day rate for a single service shift, plus vehicle allowance, per diem and if applicable, additional services rates. We do not pay mobilization or mileage to the rig site, as we offer the vehicle allowance instead.

Our geologists collect pre-set sample intervals and build mudlogs utilizing Tlog software, as well as a lithology description software for consistency in mudlogs. Approximately half of our jobs geosteer at the wellsite using Starsteer software. A majority of our jobs utilize the DQ 1000 Mass Spectrometer, rather than a standard chromatograph. We use the Terra SLS Green Box for our non-geochemistry wells. We are one of the few companies that is certified to train our own employees to operate and service the SLB DQ1000.
