The Exploration Geoscientist will be working as part of the Exploration Atlantic Basins Team (offshore Guyana, Trinidad, Brazil) evaluating the current portfolio including new opportunities. Responsibilities within the exploration team will include: seismic stratigraphy, technical geophysical and geological evaluation, including predrill seismic interpretation and mapping, volumetrics, risking, well-to-seismic analysis while drilling, post-well seismic reinterpretation. Additional responsibilities may include presenting technical work both internally and externally.
Provide geological expertise in terms of analyzing, interpreting and integrating geological data to build models for play concepts in regional / localized scales
Expertise in sequence stratigraphy and seismic stratigraphy models and interpretation, mostly in clastic turbidite systems.
Provide input to Quality Reviews and explain the projects in peer review sessions. Prospect volumetric and risk assessment.
Assist in evaluation of new projects / assets
Participating in Farm In/Farm Out Opportunities and support technical assessments and recommendations to management.
Working knowledge of Paradigm software is preferred
Excellent technical writing and communication skills, attention to detail, ability to lead complex requests, and a strong work ethic is essential
Ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands, and assess and manage priorities in a fast-paced work environment
Required Qualifications: In order to perform the accountabilities of this position, candidates must be able to demonstrate:
The legal authorization to work in the US for anyone other than current employer.
A minimum of a Master’s degree in Geosciences with preferred emphasis on geophysics.
A Bachelor’s degree with strong relevant experience will also be considered.
5+ years of seismic interpretation experience in a petroleum exploration environment with experience in interpretation in international (outside the US) basins.
Experience with seismic calibration, quantitative interpretation studies and techniques, seismic inversion, attribute techniques, and the use of rock property and quantitative interpretation software such as Hampson-Russell, Stratimagic, Voxelgeo or similar.
High motivation, pragmatism and flexibility to adapt work practices to meet aggressive project timelines providing high quality work products.
The willingness and ability to support the development of less experienced team members.
Availability to travel internationally to assists to meetings, operations, conferences, etc.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized & presentable manner.

A minimum of Bachelor degree in a Geosciences discipline, MSc preferred.
