Job Description Shell Oil Company is currently seeking a Exploration Geologist, for its Houston, Texas location.

In this position, you will provide sound regional geologic frameworks for generating and evaluating play prospectivity. Proactively identify and generate new material opportunities. Derive reliable volumes, risk assessments, and critical subsurface parameters for defined plays. Participate in proposing activities appropriate for exploration investments in existing venture areas, such as seismic, acreage acquisition, and divestiture. Proactively seek and evaluate new technologies and work-flows that unlock new plays and/or enhance existing ones.  Coach and mentor junior geoscientists.

Requirements To be considered for this position, you must possess a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Geology or Geophysics, or a related field plus a minimum of 2 years of experience in an Upstream geoscience position including experience with play based exploration and regional framework studies, 2D/3D seismic interpretation and mapping, structural interpretation of rift basins and salt tectonic regimes, prospect maturation including volumes and risking, seismic and sequence stratigraphy, basin modeling and plate tectonics.
