Aker BP Exploration is looking for candidates with a drive to solve challenges, see opportunity where none are obvious, ability to understand and integrate information outside of discipline. Are you able to work efficiently with other specialist and formulate new concepts within technology or hydrocarbon plays? This is exploration in Aker BP. Unlocking remaining resources in the mature areas on the NCS requires new perspectives and innovation brought forward by improved cross discipline work processes. These will challenge established exploration concepts and provide the new prospects and discoveries close to existing fields and infrastructure as well as in frontier growth regions.

Aker BP provides the opportunity to work with specialists within geology, geochemists, petrophysicists, advanced seismic imaging, geophysical specialists and data scientists among others. Exploration at Aker BP has a high activity level maintaining a large portfolio of licenses and prospects throughout the entire NCS besides being engaged in technology development and digitalisation.
Duties and responsibilities
All principal tasks are related to prospect identification and assessment.
Generalists and specialists are all encouraged to apply with competence in all or parts of activities below.
Coordination and execution of geological work in exploration licenses and access to new acreage
Planning and execution of geological data acquisition
Prospect identification and evaluation, volume and risk assessment
Evaluation of well data and stratigraphy Integration of well data, seismic and geophysical work for the evaluation of play model, GDE, prospect or discovery
Coaching and mentoring of junior staff
Good communication skills to external parties and upper management
Ability to effectively work and integrate across the subsurface disciplines
Continuously build on our corporate knowledge base for new innovative prospect generation
Interpretation and analysis
Proven E&P track record or significant contributions
Minimum M.Sc. and geophysical experience within oil and gas exploration or production
College / University, Master / Phd grade
Good analytical skills and critical thinking, capable of individual problem solution
Seeks self development, and coaches others to improve their skills

Requirement for language proficiency in Norwegian and English (both written and verbal)
